Cimetidine is an immunomodulator and a histamine congener. Cimetidine competitively inhibits histamine binding to histamine H2 receptors, and suppresses the growth of several tumors, including gastrointestinal cancer. This compound is an anti-angiogenic agent. Cimetidine is an activator of Nischarin.

Function 

Used in the treatment of duodenal ulcer, gastric ulcer, upper gastrointestinal bleeding, chronic colitis, herpes zoster, disease such as chronic urticaria. Against the virus and immune enhancement have certain effect.

Application

1. Cimetidine is used to treat ulcers of the stomach and intestines and prevent them from coming back after they have healed.
