Product Description
Parecoxib is the world's first specific cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) inhibitor that can be administered intravenously and intramuscularly. It was successfully developed by Pharmacia, and its trade name is "Terna". It was approved to be marketed in Europe in early 2002 and entered the Chinese market in 2008. It is a water-soluble precursor of valdecoxib and is a coxib-type analgesic in anti-arthritis drugs. It is mainly used for short-term treatment of postoperative pain in clinic. It can also be used for the treatment of moderate or severe acute postoperative pain.
What is Parecoxib ?
Parecoxib is a water soluble and injectable prodrug of valdecoxib. It is marketed as Dynastat in the European Union. Parecoxib is a COX2 selective inhibitor in the same category as celecoxib (Celebrex) and rofecoxib (Vioxx). Function:
Parecoxib sodium is very helpful for pain, inflammation and fever. It can selectively inhibit the formation of prostaglandins in tissues including endothelial tissue, but has no effect on platelet thromboxane.
